Featured Auction: Appalachian Mountain Lodge, Land, & Golf Course

Appalachian Mountain Property

In a short span of time, Albert Burney has earned the reputation as one of the leading companies in auctioning luxury real estate. The firm, established in 2001 by Warren A. Ward, secures and sells unique real estate using his innovative approach to marketing and his commitment to providing individual attention to each property.

On Tuesday, October 28th, at 10:00 AM EST, anxious bidders will assemble for the absolute auction of  380 +/- acres in the Appalachian mountains of Southwest Virginia. Located in Coeburn, Virginia, the property features a 9-hole golf course, 10 bedroom lodge and approximately 300 +/- wooded acres. This unique property is located on top of a mountain and offers breathtaking views! The property will offered in tracts or in combinations.

Property Highlights:

The Lodge: Features 10 bedrooms, two kitchens, two living rooms, a dining room (capable of seating 80 people), laundry room, an office and a large deck. This is a perfect retreat for weddings, corporate get-a-ways, or base camp for hunters. The lodge was built in 1977 and remodeled in 1999.

Other Buildings: There is a two unit A-frame located close to the club house. Each unit has 2 bedrooms, a living room / kitchen combined and a bathroom. The shop building is a 30×40 metal building used to store and repair all the equipment used on the course.

The Golf Course: This 9-hole golf course sits on approximately 80 +/- acres thus leaving 300 +/- acres for development or recreational use. With multiple sets of tee boxes, golfers can play 18 holes of golf on a par 67/5,270± yards.

Timber: The timber on the property consists of both hard and soft wood. Selective timbering was done in the fall of 2001 on some of the property. With the new power plant that is being built close by, the value of the chip wood in this area will steadily increase.

Water Supply: Like most of the towns in Southwestern Virginia and Eastern Kentucky the water comes from a well that is drilled into an abandon deep mine thus creating a large underground lake that is sealed up and is constantly replenished by water filtering through rock formation. Once the water is pumped to the surface it is chlorinated and passes through a water softener. The water that is used for irrigation comes from the same well, however, chlorine is not added. The well produces 25 gallons per minute. There are two 10,000 gallon storage tanks on the irrigation side of the system with pumps to aid the watering of the greens.

Also selling all equipment: golf carts, tractors, inventory, furniture, etc. The personal property auction will be conducted immediately after the real estate auction.

Registration begins at 9:00 A.M. EST on Auction Day. Auction begins at 10:00 A.M. EST. The site of the auction has not yet been determined. Check back often for location and directions to auction site.

Bidders are invited to attend an open public inspection prior to the sale. An Albert Burney representative will be available from October 25th thru auction day between 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. For more information call (800) 434-1654.
