Spotlight: Rusty Hamrick, LANDTHINK Contributor

Rusty HamrickRusty Hamrick, land broker and founder of Huff Creek Properties, is one of the newest additions to our experienced panel of LANDTHINK Contributors. In the short amount of time, he has written many informative articles for LANDTHINK.com, our sister site that is an authoritative online resource for advice, knowledge, opinions and trends related to land. He, and the entire panel of regular LANDTHINK Contributors, choose to share their expertise and experiences on an array of land topics to help buyers and sellers navigate the real estate land market and be in the know on current land topics.

Rusty graduated from the College of Charleston in 2003 with a degree in Corporate Communication. Following his undergraduate work Rusty earned a law degree from the Charleston School of Law in 2007 and a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from Clemson University in 2009.

In September of 2010, Rusty joined NAI Earle Furman (NAIEF), a leading full service commercial real estate brokerage firm in the Upstate of South Carolina specializing in the office, industrial, investment and retail sectors. He was hired to start a recreational and timber division, and this new division was the beginning of Huff Creek Properties.

Huff Creek Properties offers brokerage and property management services to clients throughout South Carolina. Their services include full representation of buyers and sellers in land transactions and property management options including lease management, wildlife management and maintenance and upkeep of rural land. As broker at Huff Creek Properties, Rusty follows his passion of assisting clients in the purchase and sale of hunting and timber tracts as well as offering input and facilitating methods to make improvements to these properties.

A lifelong resident of South Carolina, Rusty developed a love of the outdoors early on. At the age of twelve his family moved to their seven hundred acres in the rolling hills of the Piedmont Region, in southern Greenville County, where he was exposed to timber and wildlife management early on. For the last ten years he has played an integral role in the management of this farm and been fortunate enough to witness its progression into a first-class hunting and timber tract.

An avid outdoorsman for his entire life, Rusty continues to hunt, fish, and manage for wildlife on his family’s farm. He is also a board member for the Quality Deer Management Association’s (QDMA) Foothills Branch.
